Norman Woodward, Cluster IT Supervisor at Metsec explained that the invention first considered moving to Numara Route a time ago as component of a move to upgrade the service administration capabilities of its service desk.

. What we were particularly interested in was a resolution that would offer us remote-working, change management, and plus administration capabilities. We wanted to use something robust to help us improve the service administration route and after considering what was available in the marketplace, we found that Numara Route met our food better than any other product.

When we looked at the alternatives available in the marketplace, we realised that we didn t want something that was overly complicated and potentially difficult to manage. What Metsec required was a resolution that had the capabilities we were looking for but was also both easy to understand for the buyer and not too labour intensive to implement. Numara Route offers us a clean pane of document that fits of laughter in with Metsec s outlook invention needs, continued Woodward.
Metsec s IT systems administrator Carl Ainge says the change administration and Web-based conveniences offered by Numara Route were key criteria behind the option of the new software.

We need to be able to log all calls and way both the military administration and change administration processes. Our engineers also want to be able to pick up their calls on location easily. We are seeing more organization and route changes and we need to be able to tell the invention what we re doing. A typical case in point is that we d be out putting in place something in the field, and the buyer would say, And while you re here, could you just do this for us?

Most of the invention s systems are packaged systems, but some have also been modified. We want help to enable us to way these changes and devise release programmes so that changed systems don t go into a live atmosphere until they re ready. We also need to be able to way any trends and present backside to the invention equipment that constantly need fixing, said Ainge.

One of the key areas that Metsec is keen to address in outlook is approval of the ITIL service administration frame that is supported by Numara FootPrints. Like many organisations, Metsec faces service administration challenges including an increased amount and difficulty of IT support desires as well as a need to integrate invention and IT processes.

ITIL is a law for service administration that we are moving towards. We have already been looking at ITIL story 3, so Numara Route ITIL enablement capabilities are certainly attractive to us, said Woodward.
